Terra Habitus

'Terra Habitus' is my quest to have a positive impact on the world. I am building an app with which normal people like you and me can train positive habits to improve their lives and the world. While this concept is broader than just climate action, I believe I will be able to reach more people if I target a broader audience and steer them towards climate action gently. My name is <a href="https://www.linkedin.com/in/tomvergult/" target="_blank">Tom Vergult</a>. I am the father of 2 kids and I am a professional software and game developer with over 15 years of <a href="http://terranovita.com/" target="_blank">experience</a>. While I try to do my best to recycle, reuse and watch my ecological footprint, the reality of daily life and of the society we live in often gets in the way. In 10 years my kids will ask me why I did not do more to help save the planet. If I am honest, if things remain as they are, I would be ashamed of myself. While we wait for our governments to take action we should be helping out ourselves to fix the problems that are within our own bubble of control. The climate problem is not one big problem that can be fixed magically by science or politics, it is multiple problems piled on top of each other. We need to take action now, attack the problems from multiple angles and bring all the defenders of our world together. I am using my skills as a software specialist and <a href="https://er.educause.edu/articles/2018/5/gameful-design-a-potential-game-changer" target="_blank">gameful design expert</a> to give people an answer to questions such as: <ul><li>How can I help to improve the world and climate change?</li><li>Does it matter what I do? </li><li>Am I the only one? If so, why bother.</li></ul> While I am working towards a tangible 'end game', this Patreon is all about the journey. Join me on my quest.
